Of course we can all get depressed, both males and females and of all ages, and at various times. However men will often put up with feeling down and depressed without seeking help or assistance of either friends, their partners or medically. This can, will and does have a massive impact on the lives of the men suffering, as well as the people around them. And there is no need for this – help can be sought and found. 

Feeling depressed, low or run down can strike us at any time. It can strike anyone, is very common and it is not a sign of weakness. When using coaching and NLP to help with depression it is very important to know exactly what depression means to you and how it is affecting you. This is because we need find the root cause and the work towards your solution state.People suffering from a depressive illness can in general experience significant and life changing benefits from life coaching and NLP in a short period of time.

Symptoms of depression

The symptoms of depression can include a loss of interest or enjoyment of things and activities, a loss of activity, lower energy levels, reduced concentration or reduced self-esteem and confidence. There is also often feelings of guilt, unworthiness, disturbed sleep, a pessimistic view of the future or reduced appetite.

Often connected to depression will be anxiety, insomnia, feelings of guilt, regret and other negative emotions. However all of these are words and lables which can manifest as a belief, now beliefs don’t need to beleived and therefore they can be challenged. Using hypnotherapy and NLP I can help you to challenge these beliefs and change the self-talk and affirmations that you have.

Symptoms of depression can include

  • Sleeping problems – insomnia, frequent waking and night terrors
  • Changes in eating habits such as eating bad foods, binge eating or struggling to eat
  • Drinking alcohol or using drugs, both legal and illegal
  • Stomach pains or IBS
  • Headache or Migraines

Stress is typically longer lasting and often does have some warranty, things such as losing a job or knowing you are going to be made redundant without having a new job, moving house, a break-up in a relationship, injury to the self or loved ones and death of someone close will bring an amount of inevitable feeling leading to stress. And with these mentioned things there will be a natural weakening of the emotional, psychological and physical responses and how they are connected to the body and mind. After time things usually do even out; but when they aren’t or don’t that’s when the stress will need addressing.

Depression may be endogenous, come from within, be a personality trait or a learned behaviour. It can be triggered by food intolerance, alcohol or substance abuse or an anxiety disorder.
